| Backcare Yoga For Beginners - Rodney YeeThis is a wonderful dvd. I absolutely love it! I lend it out when co- workers complain of back pain and they always end up purchasing thier own! After a week of the video my back feels wonderful! I sometimes get lower back pain and this dvd always helps. I like Rodney Yee in particular because I can actually keep up with him! He gives plenty of time to transition and keeps the pose just long enough to really feel them work. Very relaxing at then end! I highly recommend this dvd!
IF THIS IS THE BEGINNER'S STUFF, I'D HATE TO SEE THE ADVANCEDI purchased this DVD hoping to get help with my back pain. However, I was very disappointed in it once I received it. Not only did it go too fast, there were no allowances for someone like myself (being a beginner for one and experiencing current back pain, second) who might have trouble attaining the prescribed poses. Not everyone is as flexible as this guy just starting out. Not to mention he keeps talking about the position of your head. How are you supposed to watch and copy what he does on your TV screen if your supposed to turn your head away from it? A good yoga dvd will give you alternative poses if you're unable to do the advanced moves this guy was doing. Also he kept talking about breathing? I tried to follow along with the breathing the video was telling me too. I got dizzy and nearly passed out because it wasn't consistent. How in the world are you supposed to "breath in" like it says, then it tells you to "breath out" over a minute later. Does that mean we're supposed to hold our breath in between? A good instructor (regardless of what class they're teaching) pays attention to their class (a.k.a. audience)and thinks about what they are capable of. A beginner isn't going to be able to do HALF this stuff on this DVD. Mr. Yee seriously needs to take a look at this review AND his DVD (if he does he'll see just how smug and self involved he comes across in it) then go back and remake it.
Backcare Yoga for BeginnerThe worst Yoga dvd I have ever bought. There is no audio instruction. You watch the same move over and over. It does not even give time to change from position to position. I like to follow video to exercise. You can definitely not do this. I don't know what's point of this video.
Backcare Yoga for BeginnersThis product is garbage and Amazon should be ashamed of themselves even allowing it to be sold on line to unsuspecting customers.
Perfect DVD for meI've read some people complain about Rodney's moves not staying in the same pose for very long. That's actually what got me to like him so much. I love how I get a real good stretch, but don't have to hold it til I lose my balance! I have fibromyalgia and sometimes my muscles really hurt, but his gentle way of guiding me into the moves, and not making me feel bad for not holding it long, I feel is a plus. I think that even if I happen to be a real good yoga practitioner, the stretch is what's the most important, I don't think that 'how long' you can hold it matters so much as actually doing the move right. Just my opinion, but makes sense to me. His voice is so calm and smooth. The scenery is stunning, and I really feel that I'm there with him practicing. Yes, the routine is about 20 min., but that is also what made me want to buy this DVD, (mainly because it's by Rodney though). He's very serious about this art, (as he should be), but he also makes sure that you have some fun while doing the moves. He's shown how to meditate so well, even on DVD's like this one, so I'm really looking forward to getting the one I ordered from him that he actually teaches nothing but meditation. So far, there hasn't been a DVD that I've bought of Rodney Yee's that I haven't absolutely love.
